The Medical Women's Federation has awarded us the highest number of votes in a UK-wide survey for the most Family-Friendly Deanery led by the Medical Women's Federation. The survey explored areas including the organisation of rotas for junior doctors, cover for colleagues on maternity/sick leave, availability of advice and help with childcare and Less than full time training. This service is open to trainee Foundation years one and two, Speciality Trainees, Specialist Registrars and GP Registrars.
The strategic aim of the Wales Deanery is to commission, quality assure and support the education and training of trainees, hospital doctors, GPs, dentists and DCPs in Wales.
This includes the development of innovative models of education and training delivery, building training capacity and leading on postgraduate medical and educational research.
The Wales Deanery has offered an exciting opportunity to four trainees to undertake a Clinical Leadership Training Fellowship in Wales, working closely with Medical Directors, or equivalent. These Fellowships are designed to develop high quality clinical managers for the future NHS. Graduates from the Welsh Clinical Leadership Training (WCLT) scheme will be ideally placed to build and lead developments and improvements in the delivery of healthcare.
As part of the Medical and Dental Recruitment and Selection (MDRS) Programme, Health Education England (HEE) is working with the devolved nations, the Work Psychology Group and academics in the University College of London Medical School to pilot a selection test that includes a Clinical Problem Solving test (CPS) and a Situational Judgement Test (SJT), for entry into Specialty Training (click HERE for SST brochure).
