Welsh Clinical Leadership Training Fellowships (WCLTF)

Following on from the success of the previous years of the Welsh Clinical Leadership Training Fellowship (WCLTF) scheme, the Wales Deanery in association with NHS Wales, the Welsh Government, the Royal College of Surgeons (Ed) other health related organisations is pleased to announce the continuation of the scheme for August/September 2017.

The aim of the programme is to recruit the most aspiring clinical leaders of the future. The programme provides a structured educational component delivered by Academi Wales. In addition Fellows are able to continue clinical duties up to a maximum of 20% of their time. The programme equips Fellows with the range of knowledge and skills required to compete as medical and dental leaders in a future modern NHS environment. This is a one year Out Of Programme scheme.

Applicants for the WCLTF programme should be medical (including General Practitioners and Public Health) or dental trainees, considering involvement in clinical leadership and health service management as part of the role on completion of training (GP Trainees will need to take 12 months out of programme). Trainees who have completed foundation training and are currently undertaking core or higher training, and are able to take one year Out Of Programme, are encouraged to apply. Candidates wishing to train flexibly are welcomed and should indicate this on their application.
