Commencement Date: Wednesday 5th August 2020
Anticipated Duration of the Programme: 8 years, subject to satisfactory ARCPs
Trainees in General Surgery (2018 entry onwards) will need to achieve the following in order to progress into ST3:

1.       Successfully completed the MRCS examination

2.       Achieved an ARCP 1 for their ST2 year

3.       Taken part in the National Selection process for their specialty

HEE, the GMC and the IST Project Board are currently developing the exact mechanism whereby IST trainees (in General Surgery will participate in the National Selection process and will communicate that mechanism in the coming weeks.
Programme information:

  • Completion of core/specialty training leading to achievement of CCT subject to satisfactory ARCPs
