The BEST awards 2011

 

BEST logoThe Best Educational Supervisor and Trainer 2011 - has been annouced

 

The Wales Deanery has annouced the winners and finalists of the Wales Denaery BEST Awards 2011. In its third year, the initiative to honour Wales’ best medical supervisor or trainer. The Awards pay tribute to GPs, Consultants and Dentists who have demonstrated excellence in the role of Educational Supervisor or Trainer of Postgraduate Medicine in Wales.

Winners

Dr John Rees, GP/Director of Community Based Learning, Ty Cerian, Llandovery

Dr Mick button, Consultant Clinical Oncologist, Velndre Cancer Centre, Cardiff

Finalists

Dr Bleddyn Davies, Consultant Physician, Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr

Dr Colin Griffiths, General Dental Practitioner, Glenhaven Dental Care, Cardiff.

Alongside being named Wales’ top educational supervisor or trainer, a Medical Educational Bursary was also presented to the winner of each category. The two BEST Awards winners were put forward to the BMA Cymru Wales/BMJ Group 'Clinical Teacher of the Year Awards' .

Winner

Dr Philip Banfield, Consultant Obstetirican and Gynaecologist in North Wales
