The GMC conducted a Quality Assurance Visit to the Wales Deanery in November 2011 to consider the extent to which the Deanery was meeting the GMC's Standards for Training.
In addition to scrutinising the Deanery's processes, the panel also visited Foundation, Paediatrics, Core Surgical and Core Psychiatry Training at both Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board as well as meeting with trainess and trainers from the Caswell Clinic in Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board. The visit team also followed up on training programmes in Neurosurgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology which were investigated during the 2009 PMETB (now GMC) Cross Specialty Visit.
