Induction arrangements

Information on School induction can be found for each programme below:

Certificate of Higher Education in Dental Nursing (University Ref: UPCCDNN)

A mandatory two day ‘Safe Start’ programme will be held in September 2012 to introduce students to dental practice, and provide some guidance on what students can expect.

Pg Diploma in Dental Studies (University Ref: PPDUDST)
Information on induction will be provided directly by the course team. As this programme is delivered via distance learning, induction to the programme is provided via correspondence.

• Pg Certificate in Medical Education (via e-learning) (University Ref: PPCCMLE3)
  Induction for this programme will take place online over a 3 week period as an Induction Module via Blackboard.
• Pg Diploma in Medical Education (via e-learning) (University Ref: PPDCMLE3)
  Students who undertook the online induction at Pg Certificate stage will not be required to complete the full online induction task this year. However, the course team will provide an informal induction to refresh students on resources available.
• MSc in Medical Education (via e-learning) (University Ref: PPMSMLE3)
  Students who undertook the online induction at a previous stage will not be required to complete the full online induction task this year. However, the course team will provide an informal induction to refresh students on resources available.
• MSc & Pg Diploma in Medical Education (face to face) full time & part time year 1
  Induction will take place during attendance at the first module which begins in September 2012.
• MSc & Pg Diploma in Medical Education (face to face) part time year 2
  No induction will take place.

International Students

The University’s Communications and International Relations Division (CAIRD) has an induction programme and guide for international students, that includes information on collection arrangements from both Cardiff and Heathrow Airports; information on Visas; healthcare arrangements whilst in the UK etc.

An additional School induction will be held for international students in September 2012 with Mrs Janet MacDonald. The course team will contact all international students with further details.
