This part of the site holds current learning materials for curriculum based careers sessions run in the Foundation programme. They will be updated every year in June/July, ready for the next change over and new intake.

Those delivering the sessions can download master resources from here for reproduction, although additional local materials can be used to complement or substitute the generic materials, as long as the session topic is constant.

Workshop F1 - Making Career Decisions

This set of materials is designed for a one-hour teaching session aimed at encouraging Foundation doctors, during their final Year 1 rotation, to begin critically evaluating their career plans for after F2, and developing contingency plans if first choices for specialty recruitment do not go to plan. In the "Roads to Success" career model, decision-making is the third key step in career planning, after self-assessment and exploration.
