Over 300 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses are available across Wales at our 10 dedicated postgraduate centres. Each postgraduate centre runs an extensive programme of courses and study days which all are fully verified. Courses are open to NHS practitioners with a Performer number. Dentists working in the General Dental Service (GDS) or Community Dental Service (CDS) can also attend these courses.

Non-NHS General Dental Practitioners (GDPs) may attend but will be charged a small fee. Please check with your local Postgraduate Centre for availability before applying.

Would you like to gain further experience and skills through working with a Dental Consultant?

October - March
26 training sessions to be taken with a dental consultant in Wales.

This training and educational scheme provides Primary Care Dental Practitioners with an opportunity to expand their clinical skills in a specialised area alongside a Dental Consultant. These attachments take place at a local NHS LHB with a Dental Consultant and are for one session (3 hours) a week for a period of 6 months.

Dental Practitioners who are keen to embark on this scheme and would like to get their names in place for next year's scheme are advised to approach a dental consultant who is willing and has the capacity to take on a clinical assistant. This is a voluntary scheme and consultants should not feel obliged to participate. However, most are very supportive of the scheme.
