Your Educational Supervisor will be the first point of contact for help with a careers question. Your Specialty Training School and Training Programme Directors provide the next level of support when the issue may need some rethinking about your training programme.
There are Specialty Career Leads who work with Deanery Careers to provide targeted help and answer questions about their specialty. They are happy to be approached by anyone interested in that specialty or experiencing a challenge within it. Royal College Tutors are also a local resource for specialty-specific information. Contact the Careers Team if you would like to make contact with a Specialty Lead.
The local Postgraduate Organiser (PGO) is the Deanery’s local representative and can provide you with objective, confidential advice. They can sign post you to the most appropriate channels for further help, either within the Local Health Board structures or the Deanery. Find out how to contact them from your Education Centre.
The Deanery Careers Team is there to help if you do have a complex or confidential issue or serious doubts about your career choice or progress. You may be referred by your Educational Supervisor, or the Training Programme Director or you can self refer using the form in Related Resources.
