In addition to monitoring and maintaining standards, the Quality Unit is also responsible for supporting and co-ordinating quality enhancement activities. A long term change programme entitled 'Supervising the Route to Execllence' has been launched and is designed to ensure that in the future, the Educational Supervisor and Clinical Supervisor roles are more appropriately recognised and supported by NHS Wales.
The programme is comprised of five project strands as outlined below:
